No Place For Hate
Vidhi Tiwary
We live in a world with love and hate.
Stereotypes, racism, detentions, and good grades.
We have all been taught one way or another
Through teachers, tv, and even our mothers.
If we all grew up isolated
Then we wouldn’t be friends
If I hadn’t said “Hey!”
Or “What sup!”
Maybe “What’s new?”
Then I know for sure I would not have met you.
We are all the same no matter our
Religion
Skin
Or Race
But none of those words are an important case.
Racism isn’t something that comes from childbirth.
It gets developed as we grow with our time on Earth.
If we can’t join hands with people who don’t look the same
Then friends is something we would have never became.
Even though the U.S is a so-called “democracy”
Of the words of racism we will never be free.
Untruthful words all over the place.
Just because of our skin color or race.
Why does it matter?
Why do we care?
Would you see the difference?
If the skin wasn’t there?
Don’t judge someone by their race.
Because a smile is still a smile
And a face is still a face.
Our society should have no place for hate.
Yet it still finds space to discriminate.
We’re not saying everyone should be the same color.
We’re saying no one should be treated differently from one another.
We should all embrace our skin
And together
We can win.
Stereotypes, racism, detentions, and good grades.
